Disciple, according to Easton’s Bible Dictionary, is as follows: A disciple of Christ is one who,

Not only do we need weekly celebration and worship time as a corporate body, we also need a deeper relationship with fellow believers in order to grow in faith. A smaller, more intimate group is where we get to know one another personally, carry one another’s burdens, pray for one another and learn through relationships how to be more like Christ in practice. It’s where what we know is walked out in shoe leather.

In Phil. 4:9 Paul writes,

“The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

Jesus preached to many, many people, but always returned to His core group of “disciples” – teaching them, training them and breaking bread (fellowshipping) with them. He used a small group to equip the future leaders of the early church to change the world, and we believe this same approach is just as vital today.

At Tabernacle Baptist Church we have small groups, formerly known as D-Groups. There is one study lesson on Sunday mornings at Tabernacle at 9:30AM.  There is a different study that runs throughout the week. We are using “Right Now Media” as the source of our small group studies.

Please note that in order to comply with governmental recommendations with regard to Covid-19, masks and distancing may be required.

THE BOOK OF REVELATION  | A Study in the Word of God

Join us on Tuesday evenings at 6:30PM for our new small group study in the “BOOK OF REVELATION,” hosted by Jim & Lori Newman.

Description:

The book of Revelation is the only book in the Bible that offers a special blessing to those who read it. In fact, the apostle John makes it clear that his purpose for writing the book is to bless God’s people: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3). The Greek meaning for the word revelation is “unveiling,” and that is what the book of Revelation is. It is a prophetic book that unveils key events related to the End Times. Although the apostle John originally wrote Revelation to the seven churches in Asia Minor, it reveals details of a vision he received from Christ Jesus that are pertinent to all of God’s people.
